When Life Hands You Lemons...

So after doing some checking and researching, I found out today that my insurance does not cover in vetro, in vivo, or any other type of insemination/infertility treatments. Period. Not a dime. It will all have to come out of pocket on our side. Apparently the National Association for Infertility has petitioned around 12 states for mandatory insurance coverage of such costs. Kansas, unfortunately, is not one of those.

So this brings about the point of do we:

a) try a treatment that we need to get a loan for that may or may not work, and may need to be tried multiple times before success is achieved, not to mention six weeks of daily hormone shots, invasive egg retrieval, anestisia shots for implantation, up to two weeks bed restor

b) do we just cut out the middle man and go for adoption, something that we know will have a 100% success rate the first time?

No word from the doctors today. We will keep you posted.
